Welcome Message from the CEO
Parents and Guardians it is my pleasure to welcome you all to our website. I thank you for taking time to visit. Every child matters at the British International School as each child comes with their own individual challenges. We provide a curriculum that is well rounded and focuses on both academic and non-academic excellence. We believe that Education does not end in the classroom. Test scores aren’t the only source of success in today’s schools. We understand that each child is unique and we help them develop skills and unearth their talents through a wide range of co-curricular activities.
As part of our goals this year we intend to establish a new code of discipline that will be firm yet fair to all students. Staff will be focusing on building confidence so that our students are not afraid to take risks in attempting new challenges.
Our academic results for the year 2017 IGCSE and A Level was outstanding with a higher percentage of our students attaining A* and A’s. Our overall performance was a 100% pass. I wish to congratulate all students of the class of 2017, teachers and parents for such an outstanding performance.
Our boarding facility which took off a few terms back has also been very successful with more parents showing interest. Our boarding facility provides quality care with responsible guidance from our boarding heads. A 24-hour security guard presence ensures safety and security while homework is monitored and assisted by staff as needed. There is a full schedule of tasks implemented daily that encourages self-initiative and responsibility for each student. As educators we know that independent self- study skills are paramount in the success of university bound students, so the facility is equipped with study areas, computers and internet access.
I encourage all parents is to stay involved in your child’s education. Children with more parent involvement are known to-do better than those who have no parent involvement.
This can be accomplished by staying in contact with your child’s teacher and the school. We as a school shall continue to update you on your child’s progress and address all your concerns at any given time. Once again, I welcome you all to a new academic year and look forward to having more fun while we learn.
